Activist-Developers in Ghana
My primary research project examines technology development in contemporary West Africa. Ghana has been a nation transformed in recent decades by tech practices linking homeland and diaspora, and by the growth of oil. Yet, this path of development has been both progressive and regressive. In my book Pan-African Futurism I document Ghana's community of "activst-developers" and its digital diaspora, as they re-shape the social imaginary around Africa in the 21st century.
