How can African traditional and digital arts lead to a path of sovereignty in economics and politics in the Age of AI?

Artists, entrepreneurs, scholars, scientists and performers are pointing the way. At this two-day symposium in Accra, we'll start to chart the path.  The African Arts Futures symposium seeks to broaden the conversation beyond AfroBeats and popular music to arts more generally, with particular attention to questions of labor.
We also seek to probe the infrastructures, ecosystems, and future-oriented strategies in music, performance, visual culture, and digital media that can lead to a Pan-African future.
This event builds on previous research conferences at Northwestern University (USA) focused on Afrobeats and digital media.

African/diaspora researchers and artists will be centered in these discussions focused on local expertise and insights of local cultural producers. Details forthcoming:

Day 1:  "Arts Activation", Osu Arts District, Accra

Day 2: University of Ghana, Legon - Cedi Center
